The Samurai class can be viewed as an industry in the sense that it is their services that create their demand. As such, I was employed by various masters throughout my career. It was in the service of a Scholar (ETEC 533), a Merchant (ETEC 522), and a Lord (ETEC 532), that I made my living and cultivated the full flourishing of all I had learned and trained for. Different masters demand distinct services and so I was variably a bodyguard, a counsellor, a confidant, and a symbol of status. In all my service, I was never merely an inert tool. A Samurai survives through careful observation of his surroundings. Hence, I continued to learn what I could from those that I served.
